The Making of the Western Mind

I was expecting this book to explain where the “western” way of thinking comes from but instead it was a tedious explanation of early Greek mythology and early religion.

I gave up after the second chapter as it was difficult to follow. A background knowledge and interest of ancient gods and stories would be helpful to understand . I was hoping it would be a more objective look at where a large group of people get their way of thinking from.

Maybe later chapters get to the point but I lost patience. Pays to read the blurb before borrowing.
