An engaging look at the history of aviation through the camera lens. There are many excellent photos covering the beginnings of aviation, to airliners and wartime applications.

Some photos are very revealing of the public attitude to flying at the time. The tennis players on a plane’s wing show that flying was purely entertainment and not seen as a safe means of transport.

The book covers many side issues like the effect aviation had on changing passenger shipping from transport to floating hotels.

A number of chapters are spent on wartime aviation and the drone images are intriguing. At the back are 3D blueprints showing the insides of many famous wartime aircraft.

For those interested in aviation the photos help bring the subject to life. An excellent read.
