The murders of Jim Barclay and John Bamford in late 1917 at Wonnangatta Station near Myrtleford in Victoria is a fascinating mystery. The book covers the theories and paints a picture of the setting with historical stories about many of the locals of the time.
An excellent read for anyone interested in the past and possible future for steam. Full of facts and statistics the statements are well backed up and interesting to read.

A brief but hard to follow (due to having to refer to a dictionary many times) look at Queen Victoria’s life. More of a commentary than a complete look. Those who don’t know the background to the story will find many holes.
A 3.3 km loop walking through an historical gold mining area near the north eastern suburb of Warrandyte. Well worth a visit and there are many fine places to eat in the Warrandyte shopping precinct.
