This is one of the strangest books I have read, it’s probably the sort of book given to Year 12 students to study, and I am glad I didn’t cop it when I was at school. It piqued my interest as it was referred to by another book I read, The Road Less Travelled. Given that C.S. Lewis wrote the Narnia series and Alice in Wonderland, I was expecting this to be a good read.

However, it turned out to be very hard to follow and even harder to relate to. The pairing of Heaven and Hell, and can one exist without the other, is told through a series of stories featuring supernatural beings represented as ghosts that interact with the human characters to explore various aspects of the argument.
Conclusion
Definitely a book for those who want a very different perspective on the view of Heaven and Hell. It would be easier to appreciate it if some relevant texts were read first.
