Walking in the Light has many beautiful wide landscape photos taken by the renowned Australian photographer Ken Duncan.

This unusually shaped book is the widest one I have ever read, and it won’t fit on many bookshelves and most coffee tables would struggle to store it.

Photos towards the end are shown in a very tall portrait mode, but I don’t think these work as well as the wide landscape images.

The book is a catalogue of must see Australian landscapes. Ken notes that a number are now closed to the public. Some tracks are over-grown and some are close to eroding cliffs, and the parks authorities have no interest in letting people take their own risk. Although it’s probably due to the risky rescues needed with people taking unnecessary chances with regard to their own safety in the bush.

Cameras Used

The one by three aspect ratio images are not possible with normal cameras, unless you are happy to stitch photos together. This would be a cheaper option as the cameras used are thousands of dollars making the hobby of wide image landscape photography an expensive undertaking.
