April saw the bridge closed for major repairs.
Reconstruction, June 2012
All the nearby trees have been cut down making it look rather bare. The wooden structure has been replaced with stressed concrete beams and the cycling and walking path going underneath has been renovated.

The Final Result
The work was completed less than a year later. The end result is a much safer and wider footpath on the bridge and a well lit path going underneath.
